Sandbox/Lecture 1 - Footnotes

From Ash's Lecture Notes
NotePale blue note

Note boxes now use a pale blue fill, with a matching subtle border.

Adding a footnote

Add a footnote after a sentence.This is a footnote. It is numbered automatically and collected below.

Some text.{{Footnote|body=Your footnote text.}}

Type fn and press Tab in the editor to insert one. Hover or focus its number for a preview; click it to jump to the note, then use ↩ to return.

Reusing a footnote

A named note can be used more than once.This result is stated in the rest frame. Use the same name to refer to this note again. Here is the same note again.

{{Footnote|name=frames|body=The footnote text.}}
{{Footnote|name=frames}}

Use fnn for a named note and fnr to repeat it.

Maths and formatting

Footnotes support ordinary wiki formatting and inline maths.For a massless particle, $E=pc$. You can use italics, bold and wiki links too.

NoteInside a note box

Footnotes also work inside boxes.This footnote comes from inside a note box.

Use the named body= argument so equals signs in maths work correctly. Escape a literal pipe as {{!}}, as in other wiki templates.

The footnote list is added automatically. No separate list tag is needed. It is included in lecture and module print output.
